Megmeister Summer baselayers with a special CVV discount!

Our tame model ‘Johan’ in the coffee shop is now wearing the fabulous white summer base layer from our friends at Megmeister……  and pretty cool he is looking too.

The Drynamo short sleeve is designed for high tempo riding in hot climates and like the whole range features incredibly light weight and excellent wicking to move moisture away from the body and mesh sections for ventilation.

We love these cycle specific base layers – and they are just as valuable when the sun is out !

The guys at Megmeister had a simple mission: to create the best possible base layers for men and women! We wanted to be the best in 3 key areas: better fit, function and comfort.

We think they smashed it !

Help Joe Porter and Support Teenage Cancer Trust

Joe Porter has beaten cancer and is now going to be riding to Paris to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust – an organisation close to his heart.

In Joe’s words…

In late 2017 I got the scare of my life. I got diagnosed and had testicular cancer! I got the all clear in February 2018 THANK GOODNESS!. I am having to have regular check ups now for the next 5 years. But now I’m ready for my next challenge. Cycling from London to Paris! This will be the ultimate challenge for myself but I AM READY!

Many people my age (mid 20s) are more commonly diagnosed with this cancer but the survive rate is high if caught earlier enough!

I will be part of the incredible inspiring bunch of people also known as TEAM TELEPERFORMANCE !! You guys are amazing. LETS DO THIS

With your donations you can help support me in giving back so much to an amazing charity. You don’t have to donate a lot! 🙂

So please take a minute to support Joe’s efforts for this great cause and continue to raise awareness

Supporting Qhubeka

The name Qhubeka first came to prominence for most people in 2013 through its association with the MTN-Qhubeka cycling team. The team comprised a rag-tag band of veterans alongside new and largely unknown African talent. The team was cycling’s first African team and was the sport’s version of The Expendables. They rode with a certain flair and freedom, even having the audacity to win Milano-San Remo that year. Since then they’ve gone on to win many high-profile races including grand tour stages. Their rosta has changed, as has their name to Dimension Data, and now includes superstars such as former World Champion Mark Cavendish and current British Road and Time-Trial Champion Steve Cummings. Despite the team’s evolution they still ride with that same MTN-Qhubeka flair.

Qhubeka is a South African charity that donates bicycles, known as Buffalo bikes, to communities across the country. Since 2005 Qhubeka has donated over 80,000 bikes, each one affecting an estimated 15 lives. That’s 1.2 MILLION lives!

All the Dimension Data riders are immensely proud to ride for and support Qhubeka, often taking part in fund-raising events around the world. Anyone can help by purchasing clothing, merchandise, bike parts and even complete bikes on the Qhubeka website

We at Caffè Velo Verde are also proud to do our bit by selling Qhubeka beads. They’re a great way to show that you’re a cycling fan and you can pick one up next time you’re in for a coffee. All we ask for is a small donation, could we suggest £1 or a little more, and you can then show your support for this great charity. Just like Cav and Stevo.
